Getting started with Usha Platform

This guide takes you from an empty account to your first booking. Read the parts that apply to you — creator, venue, or both.

Create an account

Go to usha.se and choose Get started. You can sign up with Google, Facebook or an email address — it takes seconds.

Pick the right role straight away

You choose a role when you sign up, and that choice drives the whole app: what you see, what you can create and how you get paid.

  • Creator — you offer services: dance, photography, music, workshops.
  • Venue — you run a place and want to fill it with events.
  • Audience — you want to book things and go to them.

If you pick the wrong one you can change it later under Subscription → Change role. But it is easier to get it right from the start, and this is the most common mistake we see.

Individual or company

If you sell anything you also say whether you do it as an individual or through a company. Companies verify their registration number and appear with it on the receipt. You can change this later.

Verify yourself

Everyone who sells on the platform verifies their identity with Swedish Mobile BankID. It is not a formality — it is the whole reason a stranger dares to book you.

You will find it under Profile. It takes under a minute and only has to be done once.

If you have a company

Also enter your registration number under Profile and press Verify company. We check it against the EU business register and fill in the legal name automatically.

If you are a creator

Fill in your profile

A picture, a short text about what you do, and where you are based. Your profile is what people see before they book, so a few minutes here are well spent.

Add services

A service is something someone can book: a private lesson, a photo session, a DJ set. Set a price and a length. On the free plan you can have three.

Open your calendar

Mark when you are available and people can book those times directly without asking first. You can subscribe to your Usha calendar from your phone.

Or create events

Running a course or an evening? Create an event with tickets instead. Every ticket gets a QR code you scan at the door.

If you run a venue

Your page

You get your own page where your events are gathered. Visitors can follow you and then hear when something new is coming up at your place.

Post your evenings

Create events, set ticket prices and sell directly. You can have several ticket types on the same evening — for example workshop, social dancing, or both.

Approve events at your place

When someone else posts an event and names you as the venue it lands under Requests. Nothing shows on your page until you approve it. An approval covers that event — the organiser keeps their event, you get the visibility.

Bring in colleagues

Under The team you invite people and decide what each of them may do: create events, see bookings, scan at the door, send messages, see statistics or manage the venue page. There are ready-made presets if you would rather not tick boxes.

The finances can never be handed out. Payouts, Stripe and company details belong to the owner account and cannot be ticked for anyone else. If someone else is to handle the finances that is a change of owner, not a permission.

The money

Connect payouts

Go to Payouts and press Connect Stripe account. Stripe asks for your details and bank account and verifies you. That is their requirement under money-laundering rules, and the one step nobody can do for you.

What we take

We take a commission on what you sell: 15 per cent on the free plan, 8 per cent on Gold and 3 per cent on Premium. You always see your share before you publish.

During the beta all plans are free.

When the money arrives

The money goes through Stripe to your account. You can withdraw once it becomes available — card payments are not released the same second, but after Stripe settles them.

Common questions

Do I need BankID?
Yes, if you sell something. People who only buy a ticket do not.
Can guests buy without an account?
Yes. They give an email address and get a QR code to show at the door.
I picked the wrong role when signing up
Go to Subscription and choose Change role. The other roles plans are there — during the beta they cost nothing.
Can several people manage the same account?
Venues can build a team and hand out permissions. Creators can invite co-organisers and crew per event.
What if I have to cancel?
You can refund the tickets from the event. Attendees are told automatically.
